What were the situations in France that cause war and revolution? The king of the time was ineffective ruler. He brought misery and hardships for his people. France was in great debt, economic hardships ,barbarism was at its peak. And American influence were the major reason in France that let to revolution.

He was supportive as well as against the way the revolution took charge of the situation and caused a great sufferings for the people.

These lines have been taken from this novel .It describes the French Revolution. It explains that the French revolution was filled distractions , bloodshed, killing and evils.
What is Bastille? In France it was the main place where the problems of people had been solved by the revolutionist .The people gathered here in july 14,1789 to opposed the kings and elite class.

It was the prison where the government kept its prisoners. It was attacked in 1789 by the revolutionist .

It is building in Paris, a place of city's local administration. It was the place where the government execute and torture his prisoners.
Describe the appearance of the Kings and Queens of England and France?
Kings often have big and large jaws while the queens have plain faces and decorative dresses.

What is the story of this novel?
The story is almost fiction but the events and background symbolizes reality and true picture of the revolutionist.

These are Paris and London.

She is very cruel and fictional character. She is the wife of Ernest Defarge. She is the antagonist of the novel, dominated with revenge against the Evremondes family .

Why is Madame Defarge so cruel towards Evremondes?
Because Evremondes family has killed her loved ones.
Describe the people's reaction to the broken wine cask? People lick the wine. They were excited that the rich forgot or lost something which belong to them.
