Hero as a Prophet by Thomas Carlyle Critical Summary l Hero and Hero Worship Six Lectures Summaries l Lecture 2 Hero as a Prophet l Muhammad PBUH as a Hero

For Carlyle, a hero is a person who gives directions and guidelines. Indeed, Carlyle was a great thinker, and the Almighty gave him the gift of articulation. He plans to amend the records as he sees appropriate in his own unique manner. The topic of his talk, "The hero as a prophet," was extremely controversial, and precisely for this reason he had selected it. He chose "MUHAMMAD (PBUH)" for the most successful man of his period! Moses and David, Samuel, and Jesus were just in line. He tells his fellow citizens, his overwhelming Anglican people that "I don't have any dancing of our coming, any of us, Mahometans, ''I pleased the good of him I justly can'' to make them calm.

In other words, he and his privileged audience were without worry about conversion to Islam and could use this opportunity to thank Muhammad (PBUH). He would not have taken advantage of the circumstance if he had any doubts about the strength of his faith. Everything was against him. But a hero, he tried his best to calm them with his truthfulness and sincerity. The truth about Carlye Hero, the Muhammad (PBUH), in an age of animosity and hostility against everything Islamic was really praiseworthy. It was really a great step taken by him when he saw nothing but the darkness but he fought back and took all the Arab tribes to the light of humanity. Before Muhammad (PBUH) Arabs had fought each other and killed countless souls. They never cared about their lives but Muhammad (PBUH)  guided them, the cost of human life and its significance.

However, Carlyle utilises terms and phrases in his works that a devoted Muslim may not like, yet one must forgive him while using his cultural mantle. He, therefore, gave our hero a tremendous emotional homage and protected him from the false accusations and slanders of his adversaries.
